My MAT cohort and I collaborated with SPACE gallery, in Portland, Maine to designed a lesson for 7th and 8th grade students from Breakwater School. Working off SPACE gallery's exhibiting artist, Jesse Sugarmann's show, We Build Excitement, students created stop animation movies based on themes in exhibit. Students collaborated in planning and creating an original stop-motion animation. They demonstrated creative-thinking skills and the creative problem-solving process to execute the vision of their animation. Additionally, students set goals in order to complete their story lines in the designated time using time management and interpersonal skills/collaboration.
