Ceramics as a medium is plastic in nature. Its malleable body yields itself to be molded and shaped as needed which allows for my practice as a ceramic artist to explore multiple, possibly disparate themes. From magnifying nature’s repetitious designs to the somber history of World War II, I try to embody the Umberto Eco quote, “The most we can do is look more closely” and find the links between seemingly separate ideas.
